Bio
Azra Jašarević is an independent filmmaker. After the International School of Film and Television at San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba, she filmed labour struggles and movements for social justice in the context of the post-socialist economic and ecological crises. She worked for the local station RTV7 in Tuzla, and one of her film projects, Piralen naš svagdašnji (Our Daily Piralen), takes up the subject of widespread toxicity. Since 2020 she has run a film and multimedia school for young people in Tuzla. With her sister Larisa she made Pčelarenje pred Kijamet, and the two are researching their next film, Šumsko Kino (Arboreal Cinema).
