Three paths
01 · Boraviшte
The main residency, and the way most artists come to us. Artists apply and a small number are selected each year. Every residency is accompanied, and held on a bursary from Fondacija Prostor; what the artist contributes co-finances a stay rather than paying for one. Applications are read through the year.
02 · Open call
Funded positions are announced when the budget allows. Each call defines its own conditions, from accommodation and curatorial support to travel costs and an artist fee. Open calls sit at the top of this page, are listed at /apply/open-call, and are announced in the newsletter.
03 · Collaboration
Concepts, projects, or ideas that resonate within a shared context can be proposed at any time. Some enter through programme-specific formats, others through arrangements we develop together. Each collaboration takes the shape that fits it, in recognition that mutual contribution does not always come in the form of money.
How to apply
Describe your work, what you would use the time for, and when you are thinking of coming. Include links, scores, or images. No fixed format required. What follows is a conversation about your project and whether the residency is the right context for it.

Can I bring a partner or family?
Sometimes, depending on capacity and programme. Ask us.
Do I need to speak BCS?
No. English and German work fine.
Can I come in winter?
Yes. The house is heated with wood. You participate in keeping the fire going.
How is the contribution set?
What decides it is who is paying for the stay. Where a grant, a stipend, an institution or an employer carries the accommodation, the rate is €50 a night for a room and €100 for the apartment, whatever the size of the award. Where an artist is paying from their own work, it is €30 and €60. Where 30 would keep someone from coming, write to us. The system operates on trust and keeps the residency accessible without external funding.
