Boraviшte in 2026 · four residencies, four projects
Four artists come to Boraviшte, the main Artist in Residence programme at Zvjezdane Staze, across 2026. Each comes with their own project. Each stays in their own rhythm. What gathers them here is the village above Vareš and a shared willingness to work at its pace.
I Rock Hard with Otherness: Fluidic Cartography of Entangled Landscapes
Zarim (Bokyung Jeong) takes part through our Boraviшte format, working in dialogue with the TEREN_SЛОЈЕVИ edition and its themes.
“I Rock Hard with Otherness is a site-responsive sound and haptic installation reimagining the Vareš watershed as a natural computational hardware, exploring layers of capitalism, post-industrial extraction, and collective memory embedded in Mijakovići.”
Her residency in the Boraviшte programme is co-financed by Fondacija Prostor and Zvjezdane Staze.
A residency at Boraviшte is accompanied work. Artists apply, and a small number are selected each year. What follows is a period of sustained attention to one project: coordination, curatorial conversation, and the presence of the programme alongside the artist in the house above Vareš. Every residency is held on a bursary from Fondacija Prostor, which carries the greater part of what a stay costs; the contribution asked of the artist is symbolic, and stands at a considerable distance from that figure.
The 2026 cycle runs across four residencies. Applications are read through the year on the main Boraviшte page; specific dates and conditions are arranged with each artist.
